We didn't do much for Amelia's birthday this year, mainly due to lack of money as we have to get stuff ready for Ezra to come, but overall we all had a really good day. We let Amelia take charge, she decided what we did and when and she actually knew it was her birthday so it was lovely to see the excitement on her face throughout the day!
Amelia woke up at 7 and came straight into my bedroom and got into bed with us for a cuddle. Paul rolled over and said Happy Birthday to her and her response was "Where are my presents?" and she just looked so excited! So we all got up and went into the front room so she could open her presents.
From us Amelia got -
A card, paints/brushes/pots, play dough/cutters, an apron, floor mat, glue, pompoms, a new bag, sand pit toys and a baby car seat.
Although this doesn't seem like much, most of it is crafty so she now has a huge craft box so she can do painting and play doughing at home as well as at nursery. Once she had opened all of her presents we got the paints out and painted a 'happy birthday' picture for my nephew as he shares Amelia's birthday. After that I cleaned all the paints up and let Amelia play with her play dough for a little big before I put the floor mat away and made her breakfast.
After Amelia had a few mouthfulls of her breakfast (because she was too excited and didn't want to eat) we took her into the garden to show her what else she had out there. My mum had brought her a garden playhouse, and our friend Jake had got her a load of sand to fill up her sandpit - which she has had for over a year and never got the chance to play in it properly.
On the way out, Amelia opened the front door and there was a present sitting on our door stop. We were so confused as nobody has knocked on the floor so she opened up the cutely wrapped gift and inside was the most gorgeous dress, a pair of sunglasses, some hair bows and a card. We opened up the card and it was from my good friend Sian - I should have known! We put the present aside so that when we came back up we could get it all out and dress Amelia for the day. (Amelia took a clip and the sunglasses out straight away so I couldn't get them in the picture)
Once downstairs, the first thing Amelia saw was the house, and she ran straight into it and said "Daddy, knock on my door!" which was really cute. She has a little look around it and inside it and seemed so happy, we explained that Nanny had got it for her and she had a little jump around. Then we opened up her sandpit for her and showed her that she finally had sand in there and she could play with her new sand pit toys that we got! Also explaining to her that the sand was from Jake - We we're going to wait for them to come round and be there but Amelia was so excited and the temptation was too much :)
After this we went to get dressed and head to Nanny's house! We put the dress on her that Sian had got but unfortunately it was miles too big (stupid dress sizes) but luckily the gift receipt was in the box so we can change it for a smaller size. We ended up just bunging anything on as I hadn't sorted out a birthday outfit. Amelia wanted to take her baby in the carseat, her new bag and sunglasses with her so we strap baby into the car and head off to my mums! (The carseat is the same as the one we had for Amelia/will be using for Ezra, so it's nice that Amelia can have a matching one for her baby)
Before we went to my mums we made a stop at Paul's nans as she messaged saying she had some bits for Amelia. She got some clothes and some chocolate and we were also given a gift for Ezra which was lovely. As soon as we walked into my mums, Amelia went straight over to the presents and started opening them. She would open one present, give it to somebody and then straight away open another one lol! She got some new shoes and a coat (which I requested) along with a blow up Peppa Pig sofa which she loves and she also got a present from my brother which was at my mums. My nephew also came to my mums and we gave him the picture that we had painted for him!
Once she had opened all her presents and had a play with them, she put on her new coat and shoes and went into Nanny's garden for a little big. It was such lovely weather which made the day that little bit better. My mum had to pop into the town so we decided that we would go along too and get Amelia a 'Birthday McDonald' just because she deserved it!
Once we got home we took her into the garden for a little bit as it was such good weather. She spent a couple of hours playing in her sandpit and in her house, and we build some sandcastles which she had great fun in destroying. Jake popped round to see her which was lovely even though she was hesitating to say thank you - little madam! But he played with her for a bit in the sand pit and they also played a bit of hide and seek.
After this we tried to get Amelia to eat some dinner, but at this point she was so worn out and overwhelmed that she decided that she didn't want to do as she was told anymore. She ate a few mouthfuls and then she didn't want anymore so we lit the candles on her cake and sung happy birthday to her which she was SO happy about and then we all had a slice of cake each. I have always made Amelia's cakes myself and this year she requested a chocolate cake, so I made a chocolate cake with vanilla buttercream icing and hundreds and thousands and it was so scrummy!
After cake we set out to visit a couple more people before we put Amelia to bed - first we went to my sisters. When we got there she was waiting downstairs with my niece who has a bag full of Peppa Pig toys/clothes/books which Amelia loved and she had 10 minutes to run around with my niece Layla before we set off to go see her other Nanny.
We got to Paul's mums just in time as they got home a few minutes before, so we went up and Nanny Kim gave Amelia a cute little monster backpack. The other presents that she had ordered haven't arrived yet so Amelia still has some presents to come from her! After that Paul's brother told Amelia that he had another present for her, so he took her into the hall way and showed her a Cinderella Doll with a matching dress which is absolutely adorable. I keep trying to get a good picture of her in it but she won't co-operate but I will get one at some point.
After she got her presents from Nanny Kim and Danny we set home, we gave her the dummy in the car as she was so tired and put her to bed as soon as we got in.
And that was it, the end to the day that my beautiful princess turned 3.
Amelia would like to say a HUGE thank you to everybody that got her gifts, made the effort to see her and made her day super special!
