Sophie La Girafe Cosmetics - Review

I was kindly sent these Sophie La Girafe Cosmetic organic baby products to test out - we tried the hair & body wash and the protection cream. When I first opened the box I could instantly smell the product and I could tell straight away that it was a 'fresh' smell rather than chemicals. I have tested them out on Amelia and reviewed them, but once Ezra is born I will be using them on him too so will post another review about using them on a newborn.

Hair & Body Wash
A gentle cleanser for childrens skin and hair. Contains natural ingredients such as White Tea which protects the skin as well as Lavender Water & Oak Milk which provide gentle cleansing even for the most sensitive and allergy prone skin. This product can also be used as a shampoo by adults with non-coloured, dry hair.

Firstly we tried out the hair & body wash, I put it on my hand to apply onto Amelia's skin and as soon as I rubbed my hands together it turned into a luscious bubbly foam. I started rubbing it onto Amelia and I could instantly feel how soft and smooth it was making her skin and it was super easy to spread, not like other products which we have used that seem to stay in clumps rather than turning into soap bubbles.

We also used it to wash Amelia's hair, and it was a huge difference from her usual shampoo. She hates having her hair washed, but this actually went in her eyes and she didn't cry which was a huge shock! It washed off really easily, whereas her normal shampoo leaves bubbles in her hair and we end up spending 5 minutes trying to get them all out.

Once she was out the bath and dried up, her hair just looked beautiful and was so soft. Amelia has really thin hair, and in some places she has short/bald patches where she pulls it out in her sleep so it was nice to know that we weren't using any harsh chemicals. Using this on her hair made it look much fresher and she smelt delicious, even when she woke up the next day.

This product looks, smells and feels amazing and I will definitely continue to use this product on Amelia and I highly recommend it.

Protection Cream
This cream can be used on the face and body, as a nappy cream or a protective mask against UV rays/wind. It leaves a protective layer on the skin and prevents moisture evaporation. This product has a ton of natural ingredients such as White Tea, Karanja Oil, Macadamia Wax, Shea Butter, Aloe Vera and more! It can also be used to help soothe itching and redness.

We used this on Amelia as she started licking her bottom lip/chin due to the cold and started to get a red rash, which was very sore when I tried to wash her face. I put the cream on before bedtime and when I gave her a good night kiss, her face smelt amazing! The next day I could instantly see that the redness had almost gone, and there was only a tiny patch which still looked sore. I was amazed with how well the cream actually worked! I applied the cream again to protect her skin and the redness stayed away - until the next day when it was washed off and I hadn't reapplied.

Amelia also suffers from Eczema, and the cream worked a treat on the back of her legs. I applied the cream after her bath for two days and the affected area had cleared up. The cream spreads really well so you only need to apply a small amount, meaning that it will last you longer.

Overall this product does what it is supposed to. It got rid of all of her redness and the only time the sores on her chin came back was when I had forgotten to apply the cream. Amelia loves using the this and tells me that she smells beautiful after I have put it on her. I will be keeping this cream in my bag and it will be the first thing I grab if I notice Amelia's eczema is coming back. I am very satisfied with both of these products and I am very confident that they will be just as amazing to use on a newborn.
