At 22 weeks, baby is the size of a Papaya - Approx 11.8inch and weighing 15.17 ounces. He now sleeps in patterns, about 12-14 hours a day.
I've been having some bad back pain this week and baby seems to be sitting on my bladder a lot so I'm constantly on the toilet. Especially if I have been walking or standing up for a long time, I get a sudden discomfort in my bladder where baby is squashing it.
I'm not feeling baby move as much any more, which is probably due to his sleeping pattern. He seems to sleep a lot during the day, and then starts to move around at about 7pm. I'm still only feeling movement at the front of my tummy, but as baby grows I know eventually he will be in my ribs and more uncomfortable places. I have noticed that my belly button is no longer an 'innie' and its now flat with my tummy, so I need to get myself a pregnancy belly bar.
Another main thing that I've noticed about this week is how much my energy levels have dropped. I'm having to take a break when doing tasks, like sitting down to take some deep breaths and having a drink. I get very breathless which is because all of my organs are starting to become squashed.
The past week I have done a lot more preparation for baby to arrive. I've almost finished re-decorating my bedroom, apart from laying the laminate flooring. We got a chest of drawers to put baby's clothes in, which is half full already and I haven't even brought anything yet! I've also got the baby crib out and have made some mattresses out of memory foam as the one that was in it was the wrong size. There's only 18 weeks to go until baby is due, and although that seems like a while, I know how quickly it will go so I'm trying to get everything ready in time.
