The last time I wrote about Amelia, she was about 3 years old and now she is almost 6! Time really does fly by. She is totally her own little human being now, and every day she amazes me with the things she comes out with. I have never met a more random, confident, energetic, god damn amazing child in all my life. She is just something else. She has an amazing brain!! She questions things and is interested in learning, she caring and compassionate towards other children (maybe not always Ezra lol) but she wouldn't hesitate to put another persons feelings before her own.
It can be a little difficult when you have a second child, because balancing the needs of a toddler and a baby at the same time can all become a bit much. I am somewhat grateful that now Ezra is almost 3, he doesn't have to rely on me every second so Amelia and I are able to do more stuff together again! Amelia doesn't like playing alone, she always wants to be telling someone or showing someone what she is doing. We play loads of little fun games on our way to school that helps her to learn plants, and we talk a lot about her feelings. I try and encourage Amelia to tell us how she feels, about any situation. I talk to her and try and help her understand her feelings and how to go about them and she is excellent at listening to my advice. She even tells her friends that I should be a "plant teacher" haha!
School is still not an issue with Amelia, although there are some things that they teach at the school which I feel uncomfortable about. Amelia has said things to me like "I don't believe what they are teaching me" and I think this is amazing that she questions everything and only believes what her senses tell her to. In this case we are on about "Jesus" - she feels that with no proof she can't believe it and that's just something that I think is brilliant because she puts her intuition first! We recently had a parents evening for Amelia and we were told that she is often the first to put her hand up to answer questions and majority of the time she is alright right. Proper little brain box on our hands! :D
Amelia is such an independent child, she is always willing to help Ezra or get involved. She always gives in to him when he's screaming which although we tell her not to, she does it because she doesn't like seeing him sad, even though it means she misses out. I am completely humbled by the person Amelia is growing into - she is like a perfect best friend to everyone and she just wants to have fun and enjoy everything!! Almost 6 years I've been a Mother, and I will always be thankful to Amelia for changing my life!
