28 weeks pregnant - The final trimester ft Amelia

This week baby boy is 14.80 inches long, roughly the size of a large Eggplant and now weighs 2.22 pounds! He can now blink and has gorgeous eyelashes too. He's also gaining lots of fat, getting ready for birth and if he was born now there is a high chance that he would survive without loads of medical help.

We've made it to the third trimester and I am so happy to be in the last third of this pregnancy. I'm feeling so large and from now on I'm looking to be gaining at least 1lb a week. We had two hospital visits this week - one was a glucose test which I actually didn't go to.. and the other was an appointment with the anesthetist about the curve in my spine. When I had Amelia I was forced to have an epidural as I was pushing without realising, but it only worked on one side of my body. They tried again but nothing changed. I was told that it will be the same - if I need/have an epidural, the chances of it working properly are lower and I'm more likely to have a more painful labour then normal.

From now on I should be seeing the midwife/doctor every two weeks - I've only had two anti-natal appointments since I've been pregnant, so this will be a big change having to make plans around doctors appointments. I still have back pain, constantly and if I stand for more then 10 minutes then my feet start hurting. Ezra is moving a lot more now and has himself in a routine almost. If I start feeling him or moving around then he starts kicking me.

This week Amelia put her head on my tummy and told me that she was listening to Ezra, and I think she fully understands how that there is a baby inside of my tummy - She also joined in when I was taking my bump photos :)
